On our last day of our recent pilgrimage we hiked from Stavronikita to Karyes. Soon after leaving the monastery we encounterd a deserted building, see light blue pin on the map below, with latitude 40.2625 and longitude 24.2564.
The deserted kelli along the dirt road
When I took a closer look at the lower rooms in the partly ruined, house I saw this room on my left hand,
with the skulls of 30 deceased monks and their bones! The rest of the house was a great mess and not of any interest.Looking back at the deserted kelli (see the second dark blue pin on the map above). On this map you can see the trail we walked: the deserted house in the left upper corner, also see the site of Wikiloc.

I know the place. It is deserted for some years. The kelli became a ruine. The last three years the kelli has been restaurated.
Time flies. There is a stone on the outside in the apsis with inscription reading: renovated 2010 (ανεκαινισθη 2010)
