In 1941 a German scientific expedision visited Athos. Prof Dr Dölger and his team did a lot of research and made a lot of photographs.  Many of them published in his book Mönchsland Athos. New images, some of them not to be seen in the book ,appear on the internet. Such as this one : A passing monk while a layman, probably a worker with bare feet, is posing before the camera. But where is the photo taken?
I recognized the tower and the guestrooms on the right from our last visit to Dionysiou. Here are the pictures I took january 1st 2015.
