These pictures are made in a photostudio probably in Skiti Andreou in a time that many Russians inhabited the peninsula. The glass negatives are from roundabout 1900 before the Russian revolution. After that event the population of Russians on Athos rapidly declined. Look how confident and self assured these men look. They appear to be rockstars instead of religious men. The fancy clothing they wear  give the impression that money was not a problem in that time. The Russian monastery, skites and kellia received a lot of donations from the motherland in those days. One man is to be seen on all the images.
