Some places on the peninsula are not that attractive. This is on the beach not far from Paulou which is in the background. It looks like the carwreck, refrigerator and the other waste lies here for a while. I hope that it will be cleaned up. This photo was shot in october 2011.

A lot of plastic on the beach near the monastery of Paulou.

It is in a way understandable that this beach is not cleaned up. It is a remote part of the peninsula between Vatopediou and Esfigmenou. Driftwood and plastic coming in with the waves.
