It is strange that all these years, noone has ever been tempted to study the many caves of the peninsula from a naturalist and speleological point of view.
So, this joint speleological project, which is ongoing, a new expedition is held every year, has to be the first. The ‘official’ page of the project and the findings as of today are posted at:

Among others, interesting it is to see a large double-entrance cave by the sea near arsanas of Konstamonitou with a length of 56m and the largest so far cave discovered near karoulia, with a length of 68m.
