85 – Une randonnée au sommet du mont Athos
Kavsokalivia
Au horloge 7 o Nous sommes partis de Skiti Kavsokalivia pour commencer notre voyage au sommet de la Montagne Sainte. Après trois précédentes visites xe0 Athos c’était mon objectif principal. Deux de mes amis, J. et H. eu le mxeame élan, et bientxf4t nous étions connus comme le groupe de sherpas au sein du parti Athos de sept ans. Nous étions en assez bonne. et a déjxe0 fait deux promenades les jours précédents. Premiers Morphonu xe0 Lavra été nous avons passé la première nuit, puis la promenade pittoresques de la Lavra xe0 Kavsokalivia. Le voyage pour le sommet a commencé avec le petit déjeuner sur le balcon de l’hxf4tel.
Grecque de café, d’eau et deux biscuits et un verre d’ouzo tumbnail. J’en ai pris un zip mais les autres étaient réflexion sur les choses xe0 venir et laissé leurs verres intacts. Directement derrière l’église et la maison a été le chemin. Nous avons commencé l’escalade et après un moment il y avait un puits. Nous avons bu de l’eau froide. Il a été le Puits d’Akakios du nom du fondateur de Kavsokalivia comme un règlement dans le début du 18e siècle. Nous avons atteint la région de Kerasia ont-ils été la construction d’une grande église avec des pierres de marbre blanc. Ont-ils apporté les matériaux pour la construction d’hélicoptères bij ou tout par bateau et des mules? En bateau ou en mule était la seule possibilité. C’était incroyable parce que le dernier jour de l’Athos, nous avons vu de la mer du port de Kerasia (Kleftiko) avec un chemin très raide sur la montagne.
Nous avons pris un repos près d’un puits sur 700 mètres. J’ai essayé de faire sécher mon t-shirt au soleil. Ce fut une belle journée claire.
Enfin, xe0 9.40 heures, nous avons atteint le carrefour fut le début de la vraie montée. Il y avait un chemin qui descend vers Karoulia et si vous marchait devant elle conduit xe0 Skiti Anne. Un signe a dit qu’il était de 3,5 heures aller au sommet. J’ai pris un petit sac xe0 dos et a quitté le plus gros dans les buissons. A ce moment 3 pèlerins decsended le chemin. Ce fut un Grec “papa”, soixante ans qui ont dormi la nuit xe0 la cabane de Panagia xe0 1500 mètres avec ses deux compagnons. La veille, ils avaient atteint le sommet et ne leurs prières lxe0. Après une demi-heure d’escalade, nous avons pris un repos onder les arbres. Nous avons mangé dolmas et du pain. L’avis a été déjxe0 spectaculaire mais nous devions continuer. Un moine venu singin de la montagne que je luttais pour obtenir plus élevé. C’est lxe0 que mon moral était très bas, les gars étaient xe0 l’avant et pas en vue.
J’étais hors d’haleine et examiné xe0 rebrousser chemin mais alors, xe0 ma grande surprise j’ai vu la Panagia. Je marchais les derniers mètres et atteint la cabane. Il y avait des matelas et des lits et la cheminée était encore fumant.
Nous avons pris l’eau avec un seau dans le puits. A ce stade de la montagne était nue xe0 un arbre unique et, si vous avez cherché vous que vous avez vu le pic rocheux.
Nous avons déplacé le long et xe0 13h10 heures, nous avons été au 2033 mètres et puis il y avait seulement le ciel bleu. Nous l’avons fait! Trois mètres avant le sommet entre deux gros rochers, j’ai vu un petit oiseau. C’était étrange parce que nous n’avons pas vu un seul oiseau toute la journée. Etait-ce un signe? Vous pourriez vous attendre de voir le fils de Dieu ou de sa mère qui dépensent déjxe0 3 jours en 3 nuits sur le sommet entouré par des choeurs angéliques parler avec l’ermite de Maximos Kavsokalivia. L’oiseau s’envola, et après avoir évité une grande partie de la neige, j’ai été huggin les garxe7ons. Nous avons été deligthed que nous étions lxe0.
La vue splendide, les espaces verts d’Athos, la mer bleue, oxf9 que vous regardiez. L’étrange menaxe7antes un peu le sentiment que vous n’xeates pas entouré par rien, qui a immédiatement dissapearred que vous entré dans la chapelle de Sotiros Metamorphosis.
Nous avons fait des photos de nous-mxeames avec la croix de fer de grande taille. Nous avons obtenu de connexion avec mon frère W. qui était dans la neigberhood de la skite du prophète Elie xe0 cette époque. Il n’était pas tranquille, car les avions volaient beaucoup plus.
Nous avons quitté le sommet xe0 13h35 o clock et dans une heure, nous étions de retour xe0 Panagia. Nous avons estimé nos genoux et autres parties du corps, mais un peu rapide nous sommes parvenus xe0 la croisée des chemins xe0 16h15 o clock. Nous savions déjxe0 qu’il n’y avait pas d’endroit oxf9 dormir xe0 Skiti Anni mais nous avons essayé de toute faxe7on quand nous sommes arrivés xe0 17h30 o clock. Nous étions assez épuisés en raison de descendre le dernier qui a été difficile. L’Allemand sympathique qui parle Archondariki de Anni fait de son mieux pour organiser quelque chose et nous avons obtenu le soutien d’un parti de Pelgrims avec leur “papa” qui ont été impressionnés par notre voyage, mais nous avons ensuite dxfb dormir sur le plancher.
Nous avons décidé de passer au monastère de St Paul. Après 12 heures, nous arrivxe2mes xe0 Paulou xe0 19.00 heures. Nous avons eu notre propre chambre, un quickshower et pour le dxeener: froid haricots blancs en sauce tomate, avec dolmas et le vin blanc que l’on mangeait dans la cuisine. Une telle journée parfaite!

Yes, it’s (almost) everywhere necessary to reserve your stay in each monastery/skete, as you’ve probably been informed by the Pilgrim’s Bureau.
By the way, i’ll be on Mount Athos as well between April 25th and May 8th, probably in Konstamonitou (one of the very places where you don’t need to reserve in advance).
