This photo taken june 2008 by G.R. Davis (see post nr. 576) gives potential climbers of mount Athos a good idea what they can expect the last 500 meters before reaching the peak (2026 m.) of the mountain. It is obvious were the trail is, you can’t get lost even if its cloudy.
If you look down you see the chapel of Panaghia at 1500 meters.
